Large circa 1870 Renaissance Victorian breakfront, desk bookcase, 9'2" tall, solid walnut, center drawer with drop-front writing surface, fitted interior, spindle galley sides, three molded drawers with carved pulls over arched molded panel doors, carving with globe, scroll, quills, books and sextant, three arched glass upper doors, triple reticulated carved crest with full center carved bust of literary figure, full globe carved finials on either side. Brand- Columbus.

110" tall, 79" wide, 20" deep (interior-12" deep/center, 8" deep/side).   
30" writing surface, 101” tall w/o center crest. 
Condition – waxed good original finish, some veneer split/looseness on right side base-toward back.     12

- This breakfront is most likely inspired by the illustrious 1876 Philadelphia Centennial’s favorable historical celebration of America’s colonial endeavors. Crested with a bust of Christopher Columbus flanked by globes on either side crests. And with objects of navigation carved on the central door – an octant, globe, two quills, scroll “map”, log book and “navigation” book.
