Circa 1840 southern two drawer stand, attributed to an unknown Mobile, Alabama cabinetmaker, walnut or butternut, southern hard yellow pine secondary and backboard, very fine dovetail construction, thin top, well turned legs, handwritten history on bottom of drawer. Brand - Alabama.

25.8” tall, 23” wide, 17.5” deep.
Condition – excellent restored old finish, solid.        1519

Provenance – estate of “Bubba” Marsal (1924-1993) and wife Anna Fitzgerald (1925-2017), Mobile, AL. a prominent attorney and collector of southern furniture.
Script handwriting on bottom of drawer has various names including William L Cochran and other non-deciphered names.
William L Cochran – a marriage record for William L Cochran & Jane S Moore on May 9, 1835, Mobile, AL. This locates it via inscriptions to Mobile in the mid 1830s.
