Circa 1860 Rococo Victorian CENTER TABLE,
- John Henry Belter, NYC,
- Rosalie pattern,
- rosewood,
- pure white marble,
- four different well-carved animal head on each leg,
- dolphin, eagle, lion, ,
- large multi-floral basket finial,
- carved scroll legs and stretchers,
- carving on serpentine skirt with florals,
- strip-laminated apron construction, typical of all JH Belter Rosalie tables (not layer laminated).

42” long, 32” wide, 30” tall.
Condition - excellent, solid, good later finish, no breaks or repairs, original marble, some small chips around marble.             OAP68

- namesake of JH Belter Rosalie pattern - Rosalie home history (1820-1823) - A twenty-one piece double parlor set was purchased by the Wilsons while in NYC circa 1857 for their Rosalie mansion in Natchez, MS overlooking the Mississippi River. The set has seating, etageres and a pair of tables the same pattern as this one being offered.
This pattern is commonly identified as "Rosalie
" due to this provenance.
