1860 Rococo Victorian sofa, J. H. Belter, NYC, laminated rosewood, Fountain Elms pattern, reticulated center section has various leaf and flora with basket bouquet, below 21"wide center carved crest includes a cornucopia with various flora, vine and grape clusters between draped cornucopias and scrolled horns continuing to cornucopia on side, with fruit, floral, oak leaf, acorn, and twig carving on reticulated border, deep scrolled skirt with scrolled leaves and rose carving, rose and flora carving on knees, cabriole legs, leaf carved foot, brass beaded cup castors, 74"w 42 1/2"t 30"d, center crest 10"t, seven laminates. Provenance - purportedly from old Kentucky estate, moved there from Brooklyn, NY in the 1880's. Good original finish/condition, both back legs have old stable repairs.
