1- Circa 1964 large abstract impressionist painting on canvas, “Duke / 64” signature lower right, “Staccato In Green and Red” title on frame / rear, paper label for show entry, colorful brilliant green, red, yellow and random multiple squares each of differing color palate, Carl Duke (1926-2018).
42” tall, 50” wide. Frame – 42.5” wide, 50.5” wide.

- Shows label on reverse with title “Staccato in Green, Duke, $375” (inflation calculated 1964 to 2019 = $3214)
- Provenance – Carl Duke estate 2018. This painting was hanging on a prominent wall in Carl’s private home as you entered the common area between central living room and bedrooms.
- Carl Duke, Milton, FL (1931-2018), head of Pensacola State College Art Dept, Pensacola, FL (1957-1987), artist and collector, Pensacola, Florida. Carl and his wife JoLynn were graduates of the Art Institute of Chicago (1954, 1956). His artwork has been exhibited at Smithsonian Institution, Denver Museum, Birmingham Museum of Art, Isaac Delgado Museum (New Orleans Museum of Art), Daytona Beach Art Center and other venues in the USA and Japan.
- Abstract impressionism period was influenced by Cezanne, Hans Hoffman, Piet Modrain.

2- Circa 1980 large Surrealism landscape painting on canvas,- “Winter Seeds Turn Slowly – Quiet Seed”,- artist signed- "C Duke", Lower Left, Carl Duke (1926-2018),- various “seeds” in landscape in various blues and greens with shades of white with yellow background,- deep red sun in sky,
42” tall, 50” wide. Frame- 43” tall, 51” wide.

- Provenance – Carl Duke estate 2018. This painting was hanging on a prominent wall in Carl’s private home in the master bedroom above the headboard. One of his admired paintings.
- Possibly inspired by lyrics of the band Grateful Dead in “Eyes of The World” and the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom.- Surrealism is a style often painted by Salvador Dali
