Pr side chairs & footstool, Hudson River Valley, Queen Anne, marked, 40"t
Pair circa 18th / 19th century Queen Anne side chairs, great Hudson River Valley copy, impressed circle mark-"B&P/arm/hammer" (photo 8), completely handmade-planed/joined/pegged construction, original dark varnish, vase shaped splat, robustly turned front legs and stretcher, pad feet, woven seat, vase shaped splat, curving “yoke” crest.

40” tall, 20.5 wide, 17” deep.     17.5” seat height.
Condition – untouched original varnish surface, loose untouched state, loss of weaving on one chair.       590h
Also included - One late 19th century Colonial Revival Queen Anne footstool, robust turned legs, pad feet, turned side and medial stretcher, woven seat (Photo 2 & 12).
14” long, 11” wide, 10.5” tall.
Condition – excellent, original dark finish, loose untouched state.         590ah
- These are great examples of probably period chairs (owned and marked) possibly by a handmade company of late 1800 Colonial Revival period maybe used as a prototype in reproducing American ancestral furniture.
I am not sure of the company owner's mark or logo. They actually appear period with the exception of the mark which I found while photographing. I would appreciate any help in identification of "B&P".
- The front stretcher does show diameter shrinkage - 1/16" diameter shrinkage.
